What is it?

The HomeDeliveryLocator API is used with the “DHL Home Delivery” product. It helps you find out which extra services are available for a specific home delivery, based on the recipient’s postal code and sometimes the DHL account number.

What can you do with it?

• Check which additional services you can offer for a home delivery to a specific address.
• Get the correct product code to use, depending on whether DHL or an external partner handles the delivery.
• For some deliveries, you’ll also get the address of the external terminal to use in your shipment data.

Why use it?

• Ensures you always use the right product code and services for each home delivery.
• Required for all DHL Home Delivery shipments.

Special notes:

• For returns, you must print an extra label for the customer (using the Print API).
• The API tells you exactly which product code and address to use in other DHL APIs.
